Old School Cherry Cobbler

The origins of the fruit-filled southern standard date back to the early 1800s. Simple and easy to prepare the name “Cobbler” became commonplace in the 1860s. Cobbler can be made with almost any fruit- fresh, frozen, or canned. Served under a dollop of whipped topping or ice cream.

  • 1 Package Old School Brand - Old Fashioned Cobbler Mix
  • 4 oz Butter or Margarine
  • 1 Cup Milk
  • Your favorite pie filling! (21oz canned or 3 cups of fresh sweetened fruit.
  • Instructions

    1. In a 9”x12” pan, place one stick (4oz) of butter or margarine.
    2. Place in oven while preheating to 325 degrees F.
    3. Remove when butter is melted
    4. Tilt to let butter cover bottom and sides
    5. In a separate bowl, mix 1 cup of milk with the contents of this package.
    6. Mix well and pour over melted butter in the baking pan
    7. Spoon contents of pie filling ( about 21 oz) over batter.
    8. For fresh fruit, use approximately 3 cups of sweetened fruit.
    9. Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes, or until peaks of pastry are golden brown
